Dress Rental and Sizing

Where are the dresses from?

Dresses are sourced internationally from designers themselves or affiliated accredited sources to ensure that all dresses are authentic.

Will I need to press the dress upon arrival?

Each dress is steamed and pressed before it is delivered to you. Rentals will be delivered in a garment box, whilst try-ons will be delivered in a garment bag. Heavily beaded, delicate and embellished pieces will be lined with sheets to prevent snagging. Although we do our best to ensure your dresses arrive wrinkle-free, we cannot guarantee that the dresses arrive crease-free as there will be some movement during transportation.

Do I need to clean the dress before returning it?

Nope. Leave the dry-cleaning to us! All you need to do is re-pack the garment into the box it arrived in and let us know a day in advance what time we may pick up the garment.

Can you alter the dress for me?

No, we do not make alterations to the dresses as we aim to preserve the dress in as original its state as possible. However, we do offer to make simple alterations to the dress’ length to suit your height, depending on whether these alterations may be made to the dress without causing any damage. Look out for additional remarks under Stylist’s Note to find out if a particular dress may be altered or not.

How do I pick a dress with the right fit and size?

All measurements of the dresses are stated on our website. There is also an International Sizing Guide and Stylist Guide available for each dress to help you find the right fit! You may also contact our customer service via email at customercare@rentadress.com.sg with any questions regarding sizing.

May I try on the dresses elsewhere instead of the showroom?

Yes, you may. We charge SGD10 per dress for try-ons. You may try on as many dresses at a time, for up to 24 hours before returning them, subject to their availability on your selected dates.

What if the dress I rented does not fit?

If the dress does not fit as expected, please call to inform us and make arrangements to return the dress immediately. Do return the dress with the tag still attached (for try-on). Our stylist will contact you to get your measurements and sizing details in order to suggest a better fitting dress. 


Delivery and Returns

How will the dress be delivered to me?

Rentals will be delivered in a garment box.

How do I return the dress to you?

After the dress is worn, please replace the dress into the garment box or bag it was delivered in. We will collect the dress from you at the address provided when your order was first placed. To arrange for the collection time, please email us at least one day before return date (cut-off time is 10pm).


Should there be any changes to the pick-up address or time, kindly email us at least one day before the return due date (cut-off time is 10pm) to inform of these changes and we will make arrangements accordingly.

Payment

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept payment through PayPal, bank transfer and all major credit and debit cards.

When will my card be charged?

Your card will be charged when you make a reservation.

What are the extra charges at checkout?

  1. Shipping: This is our delivery fee for getting our dresses to you, fast and fuss-free!
  2. Pre-authorisation charge: This is the same amount as the rental price charged to your card. This fee will be refunded when the dress has been returned and passes inspection. Any deduction due to late return or damage to the dress (see Damages section for more info) will be taken from this pre-authorisation charge.
  3. Insurance: You may opt for an OPTIONAL SGD8 insurance fee which will cover major damages of the dress up to SGD50. If you do not wish to opt in for insurance, please unselect it from your check-out option.

What is pre-authorisation?

Pre-authorisation is an amount captured on a credit card to ensure sufficient funds and account authenticity, similar to how deposit payments are made in hotels.

Cancellation Policy

I’ve changed my mind and would like to cancel my rental. Will I be charged for it?

We offer a full refund in form of credits in your RAD account that can be used towards your next rental in the event of cancellation. However, cancellation must be made before 48 hours prior to delivery date.

If cancellation is made within 48 hours of rental date, we will refund 50% of the rental fee in the form of credits in your RAD account that can be used towards your next rental.  

If cancellation is made within 24 hours, we will refund 20% of the rental fee in the form of credits in your RAD account that can be used towards your next rental.



Additional Charges & Penalties

Will I be charged extra for hemming services?

If you require hemming to alter the length of the dress, an additional fee of SGD20 will be charged to cover this service.


What if I return my item(s) late?

A late return fee of SGD50 per day will be charged for each day the dress is not returned after the due date. If the dress is not returned after one week (seven days), a fee of 150% of the retail price and corresponding sales tax, less the rental fee and total delay fees; will be charged.


I would like to extend my rental. How much will that cost me?

If you wish to extend rental, we charge a daily fee prorated against the total rental fee of your dress. For instance, if a dress costs SGD120 to rent for our standard 4-day term, the extended rental fee will be SGD30 per day.


What happens to the dresses that are damaged?

Each dress is inspected thoroughly to ensure that it is in good condition before it is delivered to you. The dresses will be inspected again for damage upon return. During the inspection, we look out for tears, loose threading, odors, and stains. We accept minor wear and tear (eg. stains that can be removed, unnoticeable snags, loose beading & embroidery, etc.). We will charge you for any extensive and irreparable damage.

During the payment process, there will be a pre-authorisation charge of the same amount as the rental fee. We will issue a full refund if the dress is returned damage-free. If the dress has suffered damage beyond normal wear and tear, we will inform you of these charges and deduct a penalty from the pre-authorisation charge.

To prevent losing the deposit, there is also an option to purchase insurance for SGD8 at checkout. This insurance covers damages up to a value of SGD50.


What if the dress is missing?

Once you have signed off on the receipt for the registered post, the dress is in your care and responsibility. You will be charged the retail cost of the dress if it is lost during this period. The responsibility for the dress passes back to the dispatch or courier service upon return of the dress during pick-up.


I would like to keep the dress. What may I do?

We do not currently allow for the sale of our dresses and garments. Late fees and a charge of 150% of the retail price will be charged upon non-return of the dress.
